On February 7th, the duClay Chapter of EGA was honored to have hosted Lorraine Mootz for a lecture on European Samplers. For those of you who do not know Lorraine, she is a former curator at the now closed German Sampler Museum in Celle Germany and is an authority on European Samplers.
Lorraine had a few samplers with her that she shared with us. Some of them you will see in upcoming issues of SANQ or you may have seen in the past. The lecture she delivered was riveting and her love for needlework was obvious. It was truly a pleasure to see these samplers in person and to think about the stitcher who stitched them while learning about European sampler history. How fortunate we are to have had this opportunity! Thank you Lorraine for a wonderful afternoon and for your friendship with our guild!
We also had some great show and tell from our very talented members!
