Dazzling Delights!

This past weekend our Chapter hosted Janeann Sleeman who taught the Dazzling Delights needlepoint class.  This intermediate class focuses on embellishments using beads, sequins and other embellishments with a strong emphasis on beading.

Janeann started the class by sharing her introduction to needlepoint (thanks to a mother-in-law who wanted needlepoint chair cushions) and her eventual path to teaching.  Janeann's professional history as a former executive combined with her love of needlework makes her a very intuitive and effective instructor.  The class not only included instruction on the skills being taught but many tips and tricks to avoid common stitching and embellishing pitfalls.  Even our most experienced class member came away with valuable learnings from this class.

Lunch was catered by Brenda from the Flying J.  Unfortunately we were too busy eating lunch to take a photo but a picture of one of the desserts is pictured below.  Delicious!

Theresa brought her Candy Claus project which Janeann taught previously for our Chapter.

All done!  Didn't get a  close up but this project will be in our exhibit next month.

Janeann also brought the models for a couple of other classes she teaches.  This Chocolate Bunny was the topic of much conversation!

All of the projects were exquisitely stitched and finished.
